Support Our Sailors

Brothers and Sisters,

Local 698’s Membership Committee is hosting a donations event to offer joy and positive support of U.S. sailors currently deployed to Iran. They are collecting the following items:

•Ground coffee (8 oz – 2 lb bags)

•Beef jerky

•Popcorn packets

•Electrolyte mixes

•Protein bars

•Granola bars

•Slim Jim’s

•Goldfish crackers

•Sour candy

•Fruit snacks

•Gummy candy

•Gum

•Nuts or mixed nuts

•Motion sickness pills or patches (seashave been extremely rough)

Do not purchase large containers (harder to ship/distribute). If you are in one of the four main offices, you may bring your donations to one of the following people:

Rochester – Amie Housel

Albany – Heather Huestis (2nd fl.); TIffany Csontos (3rd fl.); Jill Persico (5th fl.)

If you are in the field and wish to send in donations, please send them to Heather Huestis at DASNY, 515 Broadway, Albany, NY. If you would like to make a monetary donation (Heather will purchase items on your behalf), please contact Heather directly (hhuestis@dasny.org).

Donations will be accepted from now until May 13, 2026.

BONUS/ADDITION: Please feel free to take a few extra minutes to send a message to our sailors. Have your kids/grandkids draw pictures, send a funny card, or write a note of gratitude. All messages would be embraced by our military men and women.
